I am a farrier and my wife owns Kel-Mar EquiCenter, a boarding,
training, sale horses, and instruction facility. She was looking
for a new lesson horse to carry her larger beginner students.
She was originally looking for a Draft Cross. One of my farrier
customers had purchased a horse from Dana, and spoke very highly
of her. I suggested to my wife that she take a look at what Dana
had to offer. She found Dixie Chick, a refined Percheron Mare.We
drove over 400 miles to take a look at her off some pictures
and Dana's confidence that she was what we were looking for.

I have just returned from visiting Dana Shah and Blues City Warmbloods.
I went to look at "Big Momma," a Belgian mare (who
I bought!) I have to say that Dana was one of the most professional
and ethical horse agents I have ever worked with. She is not
only extremely knowledgeable, she is extremely generous of her
time (she had me stay at her house!!!). She clearly cares about
the horses she owns, sells, and represents. Big Momma and I had
a disagreement about whether or not she would lift her feet for
me. Dana immediately jumped in to help, not only me, but Big
Momma, to make sure that we really were a compatable pair. She
shows as much concern that the buyer fit the horse, as she does
that the horse fit the buyer, even though she makes part of her
living at selling horses. I got the impression that Dana would
never sell an animal to an owner she thought inappropriate. This
type of ethical concern can be hard to find in the horse business.
I would recommend Da na to anyone. (Oh, and she sells good horses and discloses everything about them, good and bad!!) Melissa |

If you are looking for a place to ride or train, definitely check out Ms. Dana's. We started a couple of months ago and Kimberly has improved tremendously. Ms. Dana takes her time to see that each student is put with the right horse, that the student progresses at their own pace and is confident with what they are doing before they move on. We have brought friends with us and they have been made to feel right at home whether they were doing lessons or just there to watch. I have been very impressed with the caring and professionalism that Ms. Dana takes in the lessons she gives as well as the advice in other things, such as looking to buy a horse. She makes sure you are informed and knowledgeable(as I am not).I am so glad that I did not jump with the first place I called and waited for the right one.
